Any Fancier Gift

My friend asked me today what I would give myself this Christmas. I feel so blessed this year I'm not actually buying anything super fancy this Christmas (okay, if I had the money I'd go to France in a heartbeat!). Anyway, I'm thankful for the special, priceless everyday things. I created this poem tonight while I thought of the incident.

The air that I breathe

The food that I eat

I guess I don't need

Any fancier gift

The hope I've received

The child that has lived

I don't really need

Any fancier gift

How about you? What are you gonna buy yourself this Christmas?

MJ

" Have you seen my Childhood? Before you judge me, Try hard to love me. Have you seen my Childhood?" - from the song "Childhood" from the album "Invincible"

- Michael Jackson (1958-2009)

* I've just seen some of MJ's music videos and it dawned upon me that although I have never really been a hardcore fan of MJ, I appreciate his music now more than ever. I guess it's never too late. He did good things and he was a good man. Whatever he did, I know he had asked forgiveness and was forgiven. His legacy has not ended...it has just begun.

Death, as they say, is not the end. It is only a transition. Peace out Michael!
